Family Counselling

Family counselling is the platform through which communication barriers can be broken and will help in restoring the relationships among the members of the family and support one another and work through the tough times of life in a better manner. It happens at times that families feel overwhelmed, annoyed, frustrated, and repeat harmful behaviors against each other over time. This could happen because of numerous reasons like prolonged illness, mental health, substance use problems, death or trauma, immigration, etc. In those times, if you feel you are having difficulty moving forward, family therapy could be a solution.

This type of therapy focuses on improving the interactions and communication between family members. It is usually used when the family is contributing to a person's difficulties or when one person's problems are impacting other family members. When each person feels supported and works within their strengths, positive changes in relationships, and in people's lives, there will be hopeful results.

There are certain key components in this form of counselling that the therapist would address:

  • Help families stop blaming each other and begin exploring how everyone can work together to make positive changes.

  • Assist families talk about the challenges they're facing.
  • Aid families as they work through their own goals.
